Cruzan Pelican Wire Necklace

Carla uses her hands and pliers to form a tropical pelican from flat aluminum wire.

Her pendant illustrates how the bird floats on the ocean or sits on the coastal rocks around the island of St. Croix.

Being sea birds, their main food is obviously fish, but the best part is that they work in teams.

While one pelican flaps his wings on the ocean surface, others gather to catch all the fish he has rousted from the bottom.

Then they switch jobs, so the other one can eat.
